Clause 1. The Committee shall consist of ten members including the Director of Christian Life and Evangelism, if any. Of the ten members, one shall be a Bishop, two Presbyters, and .seven layper­sons of whom at least three shall be women. The Synod shall appoint a Bishop as the President. The Director of Christian Life and Evangelism shall be Secretary, ex-officio, of the Committee. In case the office of the Director is vacant, the Synod shall appoint one of its members as its Secretary.

Clause 2. Duties and Functions: The Committee shall:

(a) Develop among the members of the Church a sense of Chris­tian stewardship, personal evangelism, Christian fellowship and adequate support to the evangelistic Mission of the Church.

(b) Be responsible for arranging Conferences, Institutes, Conven­tions, Training courses and other meetings for building up Christian Stewardship and Christian Fellowship.

(c) Help the members of the Church to fulfill their vocation, based on Christian values.

(d) Actively co-operate with other Churches and Christian organi­ zations for Outreach and Evangelistic programmes.

(e) Prepare and plan programmes of evangelistic missions in con­sultation with the Dioceses of the Church.

(f) To promote, organize, identify and set up Missions in India and overseas in the name of and on behalf of Church of North India.

(g) Find ways and means to raise funds for its projects after the Executive Committee of the Synod has given its approval for the same.

(h) Be responsible for the recruitment, training and recommending the appointment of missionaries of the Church of North India. Recommend their scales and allowances and conditions of service to the Executive Committee through the Finance Com­mittee.

(i) Be responsible for promoting interest among individuals, fami­lies, groups and congregations for prayer and financial sup­port, for the existing missionary work and for any new mis­sionary activities approved by the Synod.

(j) Encourage and help the Dioceses to start, consolidate and carry on existing programs of evangelistic work within their territorial jurisdiction.

(k) Submit its report annually to the Executive Committee of the Synod, and triennially to the Synod.
